Beeswax is a major ingredients in the preparation of beauty soaps, creams, ointments, lipsticks, lotions, nail Polish, rouge and eye pencils.

Leather Industry:
Threads used for sewing shoes or other leather articles are often coated with beeswax for lubrication and durability.

Beekeeping industry:
Beeswax is used in making comb foundation and queen cups. When applied on top bars it acts as a bee attractant.

Beeswax is used for designing desired patterns on clothes e. G. Batik (kitenge).

Candle Making:
This is the largest use of beeswax as a raw material. Candles made of beeswax burn longer, have a nice aroma and are environmentally friendly.

Beeswax can be used to protect cheese and some fruits from moulding and further drying.

Other uses:
Beeswax is also used in chewing gums, inks, electric insulators and adhesives, floor and furniture polishes, grafting, carbon papers, waterproofing and crayons.
